Discovering LOVE!

Harneet and Sim’s home wedding has left us awestruck with its gorgeousness and simplicity in these times of Covid and social distancing.

Harneet always dreamt of an intimate wedding but that didn’t seem possible with her large family. But sometimes, if it’s meant to be, it will be… and so while the world was being shaken by this pandemic, for them everything fell into place just like magic!

Despite sharing the same neighbourhood, same school and mutual family friends, destiny kept Sim and Harneet apart until the day they finally met online! When they did meet, they connected instantly and knew they were meant for each other.
Pandemic Strikes and a Lockdown Wedding takes shape!

Originally, their wedding was planned for July, 2020 in their regular gurudwara, but then Covid happened. “Just as I was shopping for my outfits in India, Covid spread and introduced a lot of challenges. I came home to British Columbia to find out the restrictions and safety precautions needed.”

Not wanting to wait it out till things got ‘normal’, Harneet and Sim started planning a safe intimate wedding with their families and cut the guest list from hundreds to 34!

Her dream of having a ‘boho’ style summer wedding in her parent’s backyard under a pergola adorned with fresh florals was now a real possibility.

Within a week, Harneet booked the vendors of a boho photoshoot that inspired her and her family.
Things that made their Lockdown Wedding work!
Harneet and Sim made sure that they followed every possible precaution for a covid safe wedding.

They opted for a single day wedding instead of a week of festivities, limited the guests to 34 and included only siblings and cousins.

They arranged personalized sanitizers and napkins for every guest and installed a hand washing station and a sanitizer station in the backyard.

Special ‘family pods’ seating arrangement was made for the guests, where each family sat together and maintained distances from each other. Technology brought everyone closer as they live streamed the wedding and Facetimed with family members who couldn’t make it.
The Stunning Boho Chic Look perfect for Intimate Weddings!

Harneet’s boho chic wedding look has left us mesmerized! The effervescent seafoam green lehenga adorned with blue and pink sequinned flowers and dull zardozi work, paired with a delicate powder pink dupatta is everything dreamy and summery.

And the look would be incomplete without her stunning choker and passa in dull gold with the most beautiful matching pearl hangings!

We just louuvveee Harneet’s nude makeup with that perfect dewy golden glow, mysterious bronze eyes and underplayed lips.

Her gorgeous mehendi, matching peach bangles and pastel flower bouquet are all the accessories she needs!

A bridal portrait is incomplete without a elegant retro style veil shot, isn’t it!

We are head over heels in love with Harneet’s classic bridal portraits exuding style, gorgeousness and grace, all at once.

Sim effortlessly looked like the most stately groom ever in his ivory and gold sherwani, pure white turban and a seafoam green gathjoda-shawl to compliment his lady love.

The couple turned heads with their old world style romantic chemistry and picture perfect look.

The surreal images of majestic mountains, open skies and these two souls connected so deeply in love is quite magical. Don’t you think?

Beautifully captured forever by ace wedding photographers Amrit Photography, these wedding pictures are trendsetters in many ways indeed!
Harneet’s parents house’s backyard looked ethereal with the boho chic summer wedding themed décor executed to perfection.

From the plush pastel rose arrangements to the wooden pergola adorned with pampas grass and rustic flowers – everything looked dreamy and magical.

If you’re looking for DIY decor ideas for your intimate wedding, you can’t miss how easily these rustic wooden crates and glasses of baby’s breath create perfect spring vibes!

What’s even more charming, is how their family made up for the lack of a big fat wedding by turning up in perfectly color coded outfits and with their heartwarming smiles on – what else do you need for beautiful pictures.

Covid wedding or not, all you need is your near and dear ones by your side on your big day. And do not miss the cutesy ball of fluff right there… Pawwwdorable, isn’t it!

Your most memorable moment from the wedding?
I loved being able to watch my husband-to-be arrive at the house for the milni and walk down the aisle from my window. Only my family members knew I was watching from the window, so they waved and smiled as they were seated for the ceremony. It felt so special to watch everyone as they awaited my arrival.

It was also a comforting thought that I could be married in my family home, where I have so many cherished memories. Now, when I visit my parents’ home, my husband and I are reminded of that special day.

Anything unique that you planned for your wedding given the special circumstances?
I wasn’t going to be able to hug my family members goodbye. Instead, my husband and I decided to have a happy “send-off.”

My sister organized a few games in the driveway so that everyone was social distancing. My mom and I sat by the door and watched my husband participate in the games. Then, when he cut the ribbon, I joined him and we sat on the back of my brother’s most prized possession, his 1965 Impala SS.

My husband’s brother drove us off and I tossed my bouquet behind me. All my family cheered and it was a joyful moment for all of us!
Most special thing your fiance did during the wedding?
The day before the wedding, he sent me messages about how excited he was to spend his life with me.

In that moment, I knew that I was the luckiest girl despite having a Covid wedding. In the end, I would get to marry my best friend, and I was so glad that we focused on beginning our life together instead of waiting to have a big wedding!
