No matter how much you love shopping, trousseau shopping and wedding fashion choices can be confusing like hell! Here’s some expert help with stylist and wedding shopper Divya of Bridezilla & Co.
A while back, we were flipping through our Instagram feed looking for Wedding Fashion ideas and outfit trends when the Bridezilla & Co handle by Divya caught our eye.
We got talking and found out more about her expertise in wedding shopping and shoot styling for to-be brides and bridesmaids. Having been featured in publications like Femina and recently styled events like the MUD launch with celebs like Ranveer Singh, she seemed to be the right person to put together our concept Fashion shoot!
The Look… Naughty & Nice!
Loving what we saw, we started planning a concept shoot in Mumbai with 2 lucky Brides-to-be and their bridesmaids! Together with team Bridezilla & Co., we came up with two different looks that together make the new age ‘Naughty & Nice’ brides – one a bold statement ivory bride look and the other a very pastel ethereal fairytale romantic look.
Once the mood board was in place, we looked around for jewelry partners to add the right touch of oomph. And once again the stylish statement jewelry by Manubhai Jewellers bowled us over! Then we roped in none other than aesthetic candid photographer Nitish Arora and zeroed in on the fabulous Jade Garden venue in Worli.
To doll up the outdoor and indoor spaces at Jade Garden, we spoke to our decor partner Jinal Patel of The Doli Diary and they knew just what we had in mind. With everything in place, we couldn’t leave the final touches to chance and got on board renowned bridal makeup artist Kinjal Joshi.
Soon we launched a social media campaign inviting applications among to-be brides and their besties. From the hundreds of entries that poured in, we selected two gorgeous groups –
Bride To-Be Priyanka and her inseparable bunking-studying-shopping besties since college – Sejal and Manali.
And bride To-Be Nikita and her gang – childhood bud Radhika and sister Krisha without whom she just can’t do!
Wedding Fashion Decoded – Look 1
Divya of Bridezilla & Co and our stylists wanted to try something hatke for the first look, so we zeroed in on this BOLD yet chic and sassy look with handpicked outfits from designer Ayesha Chinai.
Ayesha is a homegrown designer, and makes customized pieces as per clients tastes. Don’t we love the subtle ivory on ivory embroidery on this lehenga and crop top paired beautifully with a soft net dupatta for an angelic look!
We can’t get over how each of her selected outfits have a different look with distinct fabrics used in each silhouette, yet the variety of colors totally fit in the same frame perfectly well!
And you can’t miss how effortlessly, the same outfit goes from being nice to……. naughty with a do away of the dupatta and adding on white stylish sneakers!
Together, these girls are rocking the naughty look with such panache and boy, did candid photographer Nitish Arora do a great job capturing them superbly!
Even if we keep aside the stunning bridal chokers for a moment, aren’t you totally in love with the pretty maangtikas, delicate pink choker, hathphool and chandbaalis by Manubhai Jewellers that these girls are donning!
Add to that the stunning backdrops created by The Doli Diary and the yummy capcakes and macaroons by Cocoa Maya Patisserie – and you’ve got some yummylicious droolworthy pictures!
Trousseau Shopping Decoded – Look 2
For the second look with our bride to-be Nikita and her BFF’s, we chose the much loved pretty pastel look with gorgeous outfits from designer Izzumi Mehta!
Nikita looked straight out of a fairy tale in this shimmering powdery pink lehenga with silver gota work!
While her bridesmaids Radhika and Krisha totally complemented her in their pretty pastel outfits…
Louuuve this stunning cut-work choli!
And her effortless icy blue & gold color palette…
Together, they’re showing the way your bridesquad should look! “Izzumi was the first designer that we thought of when we were planning this look!” says stylist Divya of Bridezilla & Co.
She had the perfect colours for the camera, the neckline that the bride needs to flaunt her jewellery yet allowing the bride to be herself and comfortable in her ensemble.
Wedding Jewelry Decoded!
The stunning bridal jewelry that we chose for both the to-be brides were smart and elegant pieces by Manubhai Jewellers.
From this antique polished gold choker with a bold statement look that goes as perfectly with your ivory and white lehengas as with your traditional silk sarees…
Paired perfectly with the most gorgeous kundan and pearl maangtikas, hathphool and earrings!
To this lovely kundan and pearl necklace that beautifully complement Nikita’s pretty pink lehenga!
And when you’re a sister or a friend of the bride, those delicately stylish pieces worn by our bridesmaids are just what you’re hunting for!
Add on the right accessories for the right occasions and you’re all set.
From glowing golds to pretty pinks – there’s something for everyone!
Bridal Makeup done right!
We simply can’t stop drooling over the picture perfect finish lent by expert bridal makeup artist Kinjal Joshi. From Priyanka’s bold lips…
To Nikita’s mystic eyes – isn’t it gorgeous!
Cos your wedding makeup isn’t meant to be OTT – its rather supposed to define and highlight your best features…
And we love how makeup artist Kinjal has done a great job with that – whether its the pretty brides or her bridesmaids…
we just can’t stop staring!
Stunning Decor & Delectables at Jade Garden!
The statement concept decor by The Doli Diary was bang on target and went so perfectly with our “Naughty & Nice” Bride & Bridesmaids theme!
From the eccentric installations and accessories at the photobooth..
To the fresh flower power used by the bride and bridesmaids as props!
And the venue Jade Garden itself, was not just centrally located (right on Worli!) but gave us both a lovely indoor banquet space to set up the desired backdrop…
and a fabulous roof top space that’s just sooooooo perfect for breezy evening wedding do’s in the concrete jungle called Mumbai!
Don’t miss these delectable macaroons and cupcakes by Cocoa Maya Patisserie that our girls loved posing with and gorging on!
Loved what you saw? We’re sure this gives you tons of ideas for your trousseau shopping and you know exactly where to find anything you loved on these girls – from overall styling to outfits to jewellery to makeup to photography.
